"Tax Time Has Come and Gone....Now What?"

GAD! ! ! ! It's tax time again! ! ! will it ever cease? TAX...TAX....TAX seems all we do is pay TAX. Everything is tax. They'd even tax private bedroom activities if they could figure out how to do it. After all, certain counties in Nevada can tax it. They even have a tax on tax....doubt that? Check your city bills for water, sewerage, electricity and gas. Ever wonder what that surcharge is? It's a tax. And one look at your telephone bill would shock you. There's a phone tax, a line tax, a right-of-way tax on top of a use tax. I save receipts for everything. Medical, pharmacy, hospitalization payments, personal property tax receipts, any receipt for items purchased for work related use.

Granted! Citizens must pay for governmental functions not to mention governmental corruption. How can a city tax personal property each year, and raise that percentage anytime they feel like it. Makes no sense when some states can do without personal property tax on certain items, plus not taxing income salary, while others can't seem to get enough. Some states even tax how many children are in school....or apply that tax to those that don't have children.

Ever read the papers when new tires are purchased? How about the purchase of a new car. Read that small print and see what taxes are applied to those purchases. Why is it they tax tires made of latex rubber, but don't tax latex or rubber gloves? Or other items made from latex rubber. Heaven help those that purchase an automobile that is headquartered outside of this country. Watch those taxes.

Maybe complaining doesn't work, but it does clear the air for those people tired of all these taxes. Orange crates should be kicked back under the counter for those standing on them, spouting their venom publicly about taxes. It is suspected that a revision of tax collection is in order and that the citizenry would be better off if it were a “pay as you go” tax structure....thereby ensuring all that purchase items....pay a tax.

I think I shall publish this little blurb, then go back to bed and shut-up. After all, I am entitled to my ridiculous opinion. But! Face it! this out of control taxing is like hitting yourself on the head with a baseball bat 'cause it feels so good when you quit."

I agree that taxing gets ridiculous. They'd tax the air they breathe if they could - or do they? hmmmm Especially phone bills - that was so ridiculous I got rid of our landline and I use skype and a prepaid cell. There are some taxes on that too of course, but not like there was when I had a monthly plan and a contract.

Another issue I have with tax - in my state (IL) Amazon did away with their affiliate program because they wanted Amazon to pay sales tax since our home computers would be a "physical location" - good grief. How many of us lost money on that deal? Money we still would have been taxed on by the state as income. lol

I'm with you ;) I could rant about taxes all day long. Perhaps instead we should try to use grassroots ideas and do something to stop some of it.

No doubt! I just submitted my current tax data to a national tax preparer and prepared myself for the ramifications. surprisingly, I am to be in receipt of a refund....The tax preparer checked last years return, and found that more refund was due on that year. Now he wants the prior three years to check those over.

Still! I wonder where that "no taxation with out representation" came from. General citizens receive no representation from their city, state, federal elected officials. They think they do, but these officials do what they want and not their citizens.

More and more I believe in the "fair tax" system where everything you purchase on credit or cash is taxed for local, state and federal. IRS be deleted and that yearly scramble to file would be done away with. All citizens would pay taxes regardless of socioeconomic status.
